I am having problems downloading an image, what am I doing wrong? What steps should I follow?

Our site supports two methods of download for you to select from.

1. Download to your computer
2. Download to screen

Download to your computer allows you to download a file, directly to your hard drive, to a folder location of your choice. This gives you to option to go back to this image at any time for future use.

Download to screen will display the image immediately within your browser. You will immediately have to right click (left click if you are left handed) and choose SAVE PICTURE AS and then choose a destination of where you wish to store your image. Please keep in mind that if you navigate away from this page without first saving your image, you may loose this image and will have to download the image again. You are allowed up to 24hrs to download the identical image, without credits being deducted, however this can be an inconvenience to you if you do not save your image right away.

What is a lightbox?

A light box, in the graphics world USED to be a large table like surface, with a white top, and a fluorescent light beneath to illuminate from below. Photographers and alike used to place film negatives on the surface to illuminate the negative and select what images would be used for printing in projects.

In the current digital age, we have kept this same concept. You still have the option to add images to a separate image collections area, called your “lightbox”. You also have the option to keep this collection of images (lightbox) for your own personal viewing, or sharing with others on your team, or sharing with the entire Image Catalog community.

To add an image to your lightbox is simple. You first must have an account with Image Catalog. When your account is active, and you find an image to add to your lightbox, click on the image to bring up the image detail screen (if you are not already there). On the image detail screen, below the image will be a drop down menu. This menu will contain the option to “Add this image to new lightbox”, or if you have any existing lightboxes, you may choose to add it to a particular lightbox. If you are adding this image to a new lightbox, you will be presented with a screen where you simply give your lightbox a name and a brief description.

Name: Holiday Brochure Project
Description: A collection of images to use for our holiday brochure.
Keywords: holiday, Christmas, festive.

The keywords field may be filled in if you wish to share your lightbox with the entire Image Catalog community. If you have chosen, from your lightbox options, to share your lightbox with the Image Catalog community, when a user types in a keyword that matches your keyword, your lightbox would appear for viewing.

How can I share my lightbox?

Image Catalog allows you to share your lightbox with others. To share a lightbox, you must have an account set up, with a lightbox already created.

1. From the Home > My Lightboxes menu select View from the far right column of the lightbox you wish to share.
2. You are now in your lightbox. Home » My Lightboxes » Project Name. From the Lightbox Options menu, listed above your images, select the option “Share”.
3. In the Member name box, enter the users name (this is not an email address), of whom you wish to share your light box with.
4. You also have the option to give them access to edit your lightbox by selecting the check box “Allow member to edit this lightbox?”

Another way you may wish to share your lightbox would be by email. This is handy if you do not know the users Member Name, or if the person you wish to share your lightbox with does not have an Image Catalog account.

1. From the Home > My Lightboxes menu select View from the far right column of the lightbox you wish to share.
2. You are now in your lightbox. Home » My Lightboxes » Project Name. From the Lightbox Options menu, listed above your images, select the option “Email”.
3. Enter the email address of the recipient in the “Email to:” box (i.e. john.doe@servername.com)
4. Enter the title of the email in the “Subject:” box i.e. “Check out my lightbox for the Jackson project”
5. Enter any accompanying comments in “Your Comments:” box, (i.e., Here are some images that I thought we might want to use for the Jackson project website and newsletter).
6. Click “Send Lightbox”
