Why Your Keywords Are So Important

Image Catalog strives to provide the most accurate search results based on our keyword search. Please follow our best practice and submit the most relevant keywords for your images. You should have a minimum of 5 keywords to an ideal of 30 keywords (50 keyword maximum).

Acceptable keywords: Sink, blue, tap, water, basin, steel, faucet, washroom Unacceptable keywords: Hot, house, appliance, wash, cleaning, plumber, plumbing, soap, bubbles, dirt

Poor Keyword Practices

Do not submit as many keywords as possible

By spamming your images with irrelevant keywords, you risk the following:

• Rejection of your image

• Frustrate designers who search for images

• Reduce the integrity of the keyword search

• Reduce the credibility of the site within the designer community

It is our mandate for Image Catalog to be a success for designers, photographers, and the business. If designers are able to find images easily, this will increase the likelihood of your image being found and downloaded.

Good Keyword Practices

• Select 5 to 30 relevant keywords to describe your image

• Use plurals as our keyword search is precise

• If you have trouble coming up with quality keywords use the online resource at http://thesaurus.reference.com

• Focus on quality NOT quantity of keywords
